Poor & vulnerable

In 2015, IPPF's African Member Associations served 29.9 million poor and vulnerable clients. This was 88% of all clients served within the African Region.

Under-served groups receive services from Member Associations because of a reluctance from public or private partners to work with them.

These groups include young people, sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, sexually diverse populations and prisoners.

In addition, 19 African Member Associations used IPPF’s Vulnerability Assessment methodology to collect data on poverty and vulnerability status of service users.
