This publication, aptly titled In Search of the Missing Voice, shows how innovation in tackling Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) problems can bring greater happiness and benefits to populations that have lacked access to these services, especially when such innovative interventions are executed in partnership with actors in the development arena.
The publication focuses on sex workers, a population that is unable to access reproductive health services because of their lifestyles, nature of their business, societal attitudes and stigma.
The evaluation from which this information is derived was conducted in 2009, using information from programme data collected from projects that were implemented from 2007.
This publication is a collection of three case studies from three countries, namely Kenya, Uganda and Malawi, where SRHR programs are implemented by International Planned Parenthood Federation-Africa Region (IPPFAR) Member Associations. Questionnaires, field observations, and focused group discussions were used to collect the information in this publication.
