IPPF Africa Region lost one of its children in the ill fated KQ 507 flight.
Eric Danthia of the Central African Republic Member Association (ACABEF), joined the MA as a volunteer and Peer Educator towards the end of the 1990s. He quickly stood out due to his commitment and passion for young people. He never missed any occasion to participate in activities targeting young people as he was committed to addressing the challenges faced by young people in his country. His dynamism and fighting spirit resulted in him being in positions of responsibility for young people on several occasions.
In 2004, Eric was elected as President of the Youth Action Movement of his Association where he injected a spirit of dynamism. Due to the age restrictions on leadership of the movement, Eric left the position of President during the elections in 2005. In order not to lose this driving force in youth programmes, the Association decided to hire Eric to manage its youth centre. It is in this capacity that he got on the flight to attend a workshop in Nairobi.
The Regional Office extends its condolences to the bereaved family and his Association. May God rest his soul in eternal peace!
